Sometimes we hesitate to share our accomplishments because we are worried we may give off a boastful impression. No one likes a bragger. The truth is that there are many tasteful ways to give ourselves accolades without sounding egotistical.
People want to know about your accomplishments
If you are looking to gain new team members, they are going to want to join with someone who knows what they are doing. Think about when you joined your company or if you’re thinking about making a switch. Who would you want to see as your leader: the person who is clearly killing it and doing things right OR the person who is mousy, unsure, and not clear on if they’ve had any success. They are not going to want to join the team whose leader doesn’t have a successful track record or show ambition.
Share your track record
People are doing their homework online. What do you have to show for yourself? Your successes can be anything from highlighting your special talents, organizations you belong to, or personal and team stats. Ask yourself what makes you stand out from everyone else out there doing the same thing. These things will definitely resonate with your ideal team member or client. Sharing a little bit about yourself and what you have accomplished goes a long way.
