3 tips to mastering Instagram

Isn’t it crazy to think that Instagram was born only ten years ago? It’s hard to image life without it. The good news for the network marketing industry is that it has become a great tool to connect with your clients and find new ones.

Let’s look at three tips to remember when using Instagram.

Isn't it crazy to think that Instagram was born only ten years ago? It's hard to image life without it. The good news for the network marketing industry is that it has become a great tool to connect with your clients and find new ones.

Not everyone will be interested in your product. That’s ok! Imagine your target client. Is it a male or female? What does she like to do? Where does she shop? What does she do in her free time? Figure out who this person is, and speak directly to them while being authentic.

Instagram’s algorithms have already figured out what people like. Use hashtags to make your content searchable so your future clients can find you. You can search what hashtags other people in your field are using. Use hashtags that relate to the interests of your target client.

Engage in conversations with other like minded people. Make comments on posts or stories of other accounts you follow. When people start to recognize you, they will likely come to your page to see what you have to offer, too.

Use stories to ask questions or take polls. This is an easy way to engage with your followers. If you are selling nail polish strips, for example, and want to show off some newly offered colors or designs, take a poll. Post a photo of the new colors and ask your audience which one they like best. Or use the question box to give your audience prompts like,  “ask me anything” or “what type of content would you like to see from me?” Directly asking for engagement works better than posting a photo and hoping for comments.

That leads to the next tip: Your brand is YOU

Your brand is YOU. Companies come and go, but you will always be you. Yes, there are other people selling the same products, vying for the same clientele. What do you offer that is different from all the rest? YOU! Being yourself is a key to success. People will buy your product because they like and trust you. I wrote another post that talks about boosting your personality and gaining new clients. You should check that out too.

Instagram stories are a great way to share more personal aspects of your life. It’s a great place for your target clients to get to know you better. Let’s say you share an outing with your family. Someone watching thinks, “Wow, that looks fun. I’d like to go there too. Oh, and look at her cute outfit. I wonder where she bought those shoes?” That person just started seeing you in a new light. She can relate to you. In time, your target clients will get to know you better. The ones who connect with you will like you and learn to trust you. Relationships are the key to network marketing. Always make sure to be authentic in everything you post online. It will work to your advantage!

The last tip is to make sure your content is relevant and valuable

Speak to your audience about things that matter to them. Is there a problem you can help them solve? Show them how your product can benefit them. Don’t just talk about the features. Show them how you use it in your daily life. If they see the benefit of what you are sharing, they will come back for more.
